“Campus Run”-The CUHK-Shenzhen First 10K+ Race Invitational 2024 Concluded Successfully

On the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the founding of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen (The CUHK-Shenzhen), the “Campus Run”-The CUHK-Shenzhen First 10K+ Race Invitational 2024 kicked off at the bank of Shenxian Lake on January 13. The race invitational was hosted by The CUHK-Shenzhen and undertaken by the School of Management and Economics (SME), Shenzhen Finance Institute (SFI), and Gobi Friends Club, The CUHK-Shenzhen. After fierce competition among 370 contestants from 28 teams inside and outside the campus, top six winners in team groups and top three winners respectively in women’s and men’s individual groups were determined.

Professor Zhu Shiping, Vice President of The CUHK-Shenzhen and Founding President of the Shenzhen Institute for Advanced Polymer Materials; Professor Wang Cong, Associate Vice President of The CUHK-Shenzhen and Master of Shaw College; and Professor Tong Shilu, Associate Dean of SME of The CUHK-Shenzhen, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.

Vice President Zhu Shiping said that in the past ten years, The CUHK-Shenzhen has been committed to holistic education and equipped the campus with first-class sports facilities in the hope of an all-round development of students. In the future, it will hold more and more sports activities on campus. Associate Vice President Wang Cong sincerely invited runners from all walks of life to experience the campus atmosphere and culture, enhance friendship, and build a bond here through communication and cooperation, after a review of the growth and development of The CUHK-Shenzhen in the past decade. Associate Dean Tong Shilu warmly welcomed the runners inside and outside the campus and thanked every participant for their contributions to the success of the event.

The team named Long Fei Feng Wu (Flying Dragon & Dancing Phoenix) composed of teachers and students from the MSc in Finance EMBA of The CUHK-Shenzhen won third place in the competition. As contestants and event planners, they felt it was very meaningful.
